Studio C is not only Ardent’s most newly constructed studio (built as part of an addition to the building in 1980), but it is also Ardent’s most newly renovated studio. The overhaul of the studio in 2011, spearheaded by technical director Chris Jackson, included the installation of a SSL Duality SE 48 channel console and a rebuild of the control room. The Duality employs a traditional analog path and signal processing with Pro Tools control, all in the same hardware surface. Equipped with a Studer A827 2" Tape Machine for analog sessions, the studio utilizes one Delta-Link HD-MADI unit and two Alpha Link converter units for interfacing with Pro Tools. Three isolation booths, all within sight of the control room and each other, surround the studio floor, allowing impeccable isolation and line of sight while tracking live from the studio floor. Studio C’s innovative design and state-of-the-art console generate demand for tracking and mixing alike, and completes Ardent’s world-class up-to-date recording facilities.
