I think the first record I ever got was sadly Bone Thugs-n-Harmony‘s E. 1999 Eternal.
I was born in southern California and we had a lot of family there. One of my cousins, who I looked up to and wanted to be like, listened to a lot of rap, wore JNCO jeans, had gnarly blonde tipped asian bangs, and if he was old enough to drive, I’m sure he would’ve had a souped up ricer Honda.
I remember listening to this record a lot with him and I remember being legitimately scared at some of the creepy interludes and intros on this CD. I don’t remember how I actually acquired this CD but I do remember listening to “Crossroads” on repeat (we’ve all been there, it’s a great song). Then our family moved to Georgia in 1996 and that was when I started skateboarding and started listening to rad bands like The Offspring, 311, and Bush.
